Inspiration for a life’s journey – NOOR (light)

It is no coincidence that the person who exemplifies “giving back” is a kind and generous man, my father, Noor. He taught me that lifting people’s spirit and touching hearts is the only way to happiness. Our family history in India spans over 600 years. There are several schools and hospitals that were built by my family. I remember fondly our family house called Dewan Khana where I watched my parents feed the poor every week.

To give to others is planted in my soul and maybe even from centuries of family history gone by.

There is good in this world — “if you do good then good will follow you.” Since moving to this country, the universe has sent me on a path to meet amazing people. People who helped me when I needed help the most.

I recently joined the “Rotary Club of Boca Raton” where I have been asked to serve our community along with other members. This year I am very happy to be mentoring a college student with a bright future ahead.

At Naturally Sima Salon I honor my personal inspiration, my father, with a program called NOOR. I offer free hair services to foster kids that are between 16 and 20 years of age that are applying for a job or school interview.

True happiness is when you give to others. Small acts of kindness can change hearts and minds — and I do believe one person can make a difference.
